'THE LAST OF US'

Documentary

Ongoing

This is a very interesting and touching documentary telling the story of about the valuable work nuns perform in communities throughout the UK.

Filmed over several years the logistics of managing the footage and building the story are worthy challenge.

Channel 5

REVERSIONING EDITOR

'CAUGHT ON CAMERA' Series 4 & 5

Broadcast TV

A technically challenging job but editorially rewarding.  Working with the Producer to create 4 new 90 minute episodes from the existing 14 separate episodes.

There was also extensive blurring required  throughout to meet legal and broadcast requirements.

'RUPAUL'S DRAG RACE'

'REAL HOUSEWIVES OF ATLANTA'

'REAL HOUSEWIVES OF ORANGE COUNTY'

'RIDICULOUSNESS'

Broadcast TV

I worked across the range of MTV programming to ensure the content met brand and channel standards as well  the ofcom  code.  Often cutting multiple versions for pre and post watershed transmission.

FILM EDITOR

'ORPHEUS'

Drama Short

This is a fascinating and challenging project.

The whole production is being made with miniature models and puppets.

The sequences are shot mute and dubbed in the edit.  It is very rewarding to be able to build the story and pace in the edit, to be able to tell a compelling story in this unusual medium.

Channel 5

LEAD REVERSIONING EDITOR

'CAN'T PAY WE'LL TAKE IT AWAY'

Broadcast TV

Anyone familiar with this show will know its reality tv that follows bailiffs collecting debt.

In its original edited form the series could not be shown due to contributor privacy and identities being exposed.  I was  the lead reversioning editor working as part of a small team.  we worked closely with senior compliance advisors and lawyers to reversion these episodes, this could be removing audio references to names and address or visual edits to blur faces, address and house numbers.

BBC Worldwide

LEAD REVERSIONING EDITOR

Here I was expected to work to very tight deadlines, some times having turn an edit around in a few hours.

I would often work with producers attending the edits so they could ensure it met with brand standards.

The work was varied and the edits could be cutting a 60 minute show down to 30minutes, restructuring break patterns or making multiple versions for pre and post watershed.  This could be the removal of language, violence and nudity but in such a way that it wouldn't be obvious to the viewer.  Other requests could be fixing faulty audio, drop out and glitches.

Disney

REVERSIONING & DUBBING EDITOR

'PINOCCHIO'

'PETER PAN'

Broadcast TV

This was a varied role where i could be called upon to make many edits and fixes.  Often programmes would require re-dubbing into as many as 15 different languages.

My most rewarding edits here were on the films 'Pinocchio' & 'Peter Pan'.  Both are important classic films and I was entrusted to remove all smoking and drinking in such away that it wouldn't be noticeable to the viewer - a challenge I thoroughly enjoyed.

London Live

REVERSIONING EDITOR

I worked across the range of London Live programming to ensure the content met brand and channel standards as well  the ofcom  code.  Often cutting multiple versions for pre and post watershed transmission.

Quite a substantial amount of the content was archive material so I was expected to fix audio and repair video issues.

Channel 5

COMPLIANCE  EDITOR

'BIG BROTHER'

Broadcast TV

Here I was part of team of compliance editors working live.  The show would be transmitting live form the OB and we would monitor the live output.

The expectation was to edit on-the-fly as the show was live, removing anything that breached the Ofcom code, this could be language, violence, nudity, libel, deformation, product placement.

Magus Media

FILM EDITOR

'David Icke: Return To The Start'

Documentary Feature.

The producer had followed David for 2 weeks around Peru and had hours and hours of footage.  All material had to be viewed and logged.

I enjoyed the challenge of distilling all the material down to 90 minutes to build a compelling and thought provoking narrative.

MTV

COMPLIANCE & REVERSIONING EDITOR

GEORDIE SHORE

A short piece used to introduce David Icke at his live shows.

I was given a mountain of archive material and linking segments and had to edit and short informative light film.

Rock Productions

FILM EDITOR

'NO PLAYGROUND FOR LITTLE COWBOYS'

Comedy Short

I was brought onboard to re-cut the original edit to improve the pace and mood of the overall film.

I was also asked to supply a trailer to promote the film.

The film has since been awarded a BAFTA.

LOCOG

FILM EDITOR

'PAPERBOATS'

Promotional Short

I was asked to shoot and edit a small promotional video for the London Olympic Delivery Committee.

This was a short video that could be used to promote London and its landmarks in creative way.

The final film was used during the Olympic playing live into the main stadiums and arenas.

Royal Shakespeare Company

FILM EDITOR

DIT

'I CINNA (the poet)'

Drama

The film was shown as part of a schools Shakespeare season.  The script was written and directed by Tim Crouch for The RSC.

As well as being the film editor I was also the on set DIT which proved invaluable as I was able to consult with the director about the how shots would cut.
